Timber construction is growing beyond its limits. A decisive factor here is the optimal use of the limited resource of wood as construction timber. Gebäudeversicherung Bern has published an article on the development of an innovative production technology by Scrimber CSC Schweiz AG: GVB Info No. 1 from April 2024.
Start-up wants to use wood more efficiently
Die GVB unterstützt das Thuner Start-up Scrimber CSC AG. Dessen Ziel ist das Entwickeln einer Produktionstechnik, mit der Holz effizienter genutzt werden kann. Wird ein Baum gefällt, um daraus Bauholz zu gewinnen, kann davon in der Regel nur rund ein Drittel als Schnittholz genutzt werden.
