Scrimber CSC AG takes first place in the first "Bern Upcycling Challenge". Launched by the Haute école spécialisée bernoise HESB Management and the fund de soutien de la BEKB, this initiative rewards projects that help to promote the circular economy in the Berne region.

The Haute école spécialisée bernoise HESB Management and the fund de soutien de la BEKB have created the "Bern Upcycling Challenge" to reward innovative projects that help to promote the circular economy in the Berne region.

By upcycling, we mean the recycling of used materials to make something more valuable or more precious. The projects also had to present a potential market and innovation. A jury of onze people, composed of representatives from la Mobilière, the HESB, the Office de l'économie de la ville de Berne, the Direction de l'économie publique, the Direction de l'énergie et de l'environnement du canton de Berne, de la BEKB et d'Impact Hub Berne, selected the laureates from among the nombreux dossiers submitted.

With its innovative technology for manufacturing porter construction products from low-quality wood assortments, Scrimber was up against strong competition in two rounds.

Second place was awarded to the Mymyio project, which won the competition with upcycled furniture made from recycled office materials. The furniture is made from stocks and thus contributes to the recycling of primary materials.

The third place goes to the Second Life Battery Recharger project, developed in collaboration with various partners in the Berne region. This innovative solution makes it possible to recycle old electric vehicle batteries using second-life storage applications and thus extend the service life of these batteries.

This distinction and the recognized potential of our Scrimber technology are very important for us.
