June 25, 2024The Hack Summit on 13 and 14 June 2024 brought together founders of start-ups and investors. With more than 1,000 participants, the event offered almost unlimited networking opportunities, whether through pitches, stands or the use of 1:1 networking. This gave rise to passionate discussions and allowed start-ups to significantly increase their visibility.

June 24, 2024Timber construction is growing beyond its limits. A decisive factor here is the optimal use of the limited resource of wood as construction timber. Gebäudeversicherung Bern has published an article on the development of an innovative production technology by Scrimber CSC Schweiz AG: GVB Info No. 1 from April 2024.

Significantly increase material yield
Stefan Zöllig is the founder of several companies, all with the aim of advancing modern timber construction. His latest project focuses on the development of resource-efficient timber construction products. To achieve this, Scrimber CSC uses the technology of the same name to split logs.
Scrimber sets new standards
With the wood construction product Scrimber, virtually the entire tree is to be processed into durable, high-quality panels and glued laminated timber in the future.
Start-up wants to use wood more efficiently
GVB supports the Thun-based start-up Scrimber CSC AG. Its aim is to develop a production technology that allows wood to be used more efficiently. When a tree is felled to produce timber, only around a third of it can usually be used as sawn timber.
